What's happening this week. The intestines move from the umbilical cord into the abdomen where they belong, vocal cords are forming, and the unique whorls of fingerprints are being laid down.

Morning sickness often eases from about now — the second trimester has a reputation for a reason.
What your partner can do this week: Start a rough budget for the big things — pram, cot, car seat — so the numbers aren't a surprise. Talk about work: when each of you will tell your employer, and what leave you'll take. Mark the end of the first trimester in whatever way suits you both.
