One week from the due date.
About the size of a leek — or a dachshund, or a pavlova. 49 cm (19.3 in), 3 kg (6 lb 10 oz).
What's happening this week. Snug, strong, and running out of room — movements may feel different as space runs out, but they shouldn't slow down or stop. If they do, call your midwife or maternity unit straight away. The brain and lungs keep maturing to the very end.
Fully developed — just growing. Movements keep going, even with less room. Head likely settled down low.
Due dates are estimates, not appointments — the baby may come in the weeks around it.
What your partner can do this week: Go over the plan for labour one last time: who to call, and how you'll get there. Rest when you can too — you'll both need it. Keep the house stocked with easy food for the first weeks.
